Good Evening BMSS Families!

This is Principal Gunes with your weekly updates and announcements.

*   i-Ready Diagnostics have been completed in most of the grades and some students still need to complete them. Data chats based on their FSA test results and i-Ready diagnostics have been started. It is important to have parents involved in the process of meeting students’ needs. Soon, some students will be asked to stay for after school tutoring and be invited to Saturday Academy. .

*   After school clubs and tutoring started on Thursday, September 9th. Students should ask their teachers to see which clubs they are assigned to. If you would like to join a club, please ask the teacher who runs the club to see if there is any spot available. Please click here to see the list of clubs and teachers who run them.

*   The first spirit week of the school year is scheduled to the week of September 20th. Let’s encourage your child to participate in this fun and spirit building activity.
Monday 20th- 80's VS 90's Day: Dress up like they did in the 80's or 90's.
Tuesday 21st- Athletes VS Mathletes: Dress up as an athlete or a mathlete.
Wednesday 22nd- Twin and Opposite Day: Dress up looking like twins or as opposites.
Thursday 23rd- Tourist Day: Dress up as a tourist ready to vacation.

*   September 20th is the day to issue Interim Reports.

*   Please mark your calendar September 25th from 12.30 to 2.30 for BMSS Traditional Welcome Back BBQ. Bounce house, cotton candy, face painting, games, free food and drinks, and more surprises will be waiting for your families and friends. RSVP by clicking here.

*   Parent Training Academy conducted by the district is around the corner. Here is the flyer of the event. Make sure to register to join the event.

*   Saturday Academy, a tutoring opportunity for those who may need it, will start soon. Make sure to complete the interest form came from Ms. Schultz.

*   Students who choose to wear mask should bring their own mask, even an extra mask if possible. That will keep them from leaving class and using portion of instruction time for just that excuse. Also, students should bring their own water bottles.

I would like to leave you with this quote below:
“Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another and feeling with the heart of another.” – Alfred Adler

Please enjoy your weekend and remain safe!

Warm Regards,
Metin Gunes
